God’s Pursuit

Some people do not believe in God at all, or they do not believe Him to be a personal God who intervenes in our day-to-day existence. Other people believe in God but think they must work to find and understand Him. But the Bible tells a very different story. Throughout the Bible, we learn that God is the one pursuing us. Join us for part two of Experiencing God, where we will learn that God pursues a love relationship with us that is real and personal.

Read Exodus 3:1-6
- Who was pursuing whom in this passage? Explain your answer.
- What was Moses doing when the Lord appeared to him (v. 1)? Why is this a significant detail in understanding a relationship with God?
- How did God introduce Himself to Moses see (v. 6)?
- How does the genealogy in verse 6 exemplify the continuing nature of a love relationship with God?
- What other evidence in this text shows that God is real and personal?
- How did Moses respond to God’s presence (note each action in vs. 3-6)?
- How did Moses model proper response in relating to God?

- When do you have the hardest time accepting that God loves you? Why is it hard to feel loved by God? When is it the easiest to believe that He loves you?
- Why is it important to know that God is all-knowing and all-powerful? Why is it equally important to know that He cares for you?
Making it Personal
- How have you experienced God this past week?
- When and how did God interrupt your life in His pursuit of a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal?
- Talk about it, invite accountability, and take time to pray together.
Daily Reading
This week’s reading focus on Jesus’ relationship with Peter. As you read, invite the Holy Spirit to reveal all the ways God has continually pursued a love relationship with you.
