Judas - The Kiss of Death
2/19/2017
Judas Iscariot is one of the most notorious names in history. It is synonymous with treachery and betrayal, but it wasn’t always. There was a time when Judas was among the most trusted of all of Jesus’ disciples. What happened to him? Can that happen to Jesus’ followers today? Join us for part one of Cross Roads as we take a closer look at Judas and discover the cross road every disciple must face.
Crossroad #1: Will you follow Jesus or a god of your own design?
We will either serve the God who created us or we will create an idol to serve.
“An idol is a good thing that we make into an ultimate thing” - Tim Keller
Judas at the Crossroads: John 18:1-5 (also see Luke 22:47-48)
Judas chose to serve the idol of wealth over God.
Other passages to consider: 1 Timothy 6:10; Matthew 6:19-24; Habakkuk 2:5; Matthew 27:3-7
Questions to Consider:
What would a stranger, who had nothing more than your bank statement and calendar, know that you serve God?
Based on your ethical and moral choices, what or who are you worshipping?
