Cleansed and Called

November 9, 2025

When Isaiah entered the temple, it was just another day of worship—until he saw the Lord. In that moment, God's holiness revealed his sin, cleansed his lips, and forever changed his life. In this message, Pastor Gary Webber shows how God uses worship to reveal His glory, redeem our guilt, and empower us for His mission. God still calls imperfect people to proclaim His perfect message. When grace transforms our worship, our only response is, “Here I am — send me.”

Small Group Questions

Use this outline for personal reflection, as a couples or family devotion, or with a small group.

HANGOUT

What’s one experience that made you aware of God’s presence in a way you didn’t expect? How did it change you?

HEAR

Read Isaiah 6:1-8

  • What stands out to you most in Isaiah’s vision? Why do you think God chose to reveal Himself this way?
  • Isaiah confessed, “I am a man of unclean lips.” Why might God begin with conviction before calling?
  • After forgiveness, Isaiah immediately said, “Here I am! Send me.” Why is confession often the first step toward calling?

Read Luke 5:1-11

  • How was Simon Peter’s encounter with Jesus in Luke 5 like Isaiah’s encounter with God in Isaiah 6?
  • Have you ever encountered such holiness and goodness that you were suddenly aware of your own sin and shortcomings, not from someone else judging you, but simply from being in proximity to goodness or holiness?
  • What was the result of Simon’s encounter with Jesus? How was that result similar to the outcome of Isaiah’s encounter with God?

Read Romans 12:1-2

  • What does it mean to “present your bodies as a living sacrifice”?
  • How might weekly worship be part of this offering?
  • In what ways does God transform our minds when we worship and obey Him?

HUDDLE

Where do you sense God inviting you to join Him in what He’s already doing? What step of faith will it take for you to say, “Here I am—send me”? Pray for one another by name, asking God to reveal His will clearly and give you the courage to respond.

Think Deeper

  1. When have you felt God’s presence unexpectedly? How did that experience influence your life or calling?
  2. What does Isaiah’s response teach us about the link between worship and mission?
  3. In what specific way might God be inviting you to say, “Here I am — send me” this week?
