Are You Able?

7/11/2021

Escucha el podcast

When we accept God’s love for us, we are still faced with the question: Why would a loving God allow bad things to happen? One answer might be that He is not able to stop them. But the very idea that God is not able is incompatible with the very existence of God. There is a difference between being able to do something and a willingness to do it. Most people are far more capable than they are willing. This must also be true of God. Join us for the final message in Questioning Jesus, where we see the evidence of His ability, the effect of His humility, and the consequences of His call.

Passage (read it):

Our question for Jesus: Are you able?

Evidence of His ability (Luke 7:26-33)
All creation and the forces of darkness surrender to Him

Effect of His humility (Luke 7:34-37)
He respects our free will and turns us over to the consequences of our choices

Consequence of His call (Luke 7:38-39)
God extends His grace through the submission of my will to His for the purpose of extending His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Daily Readings:

This week’s daily Bible reading plan continues our journey through the minor prophets. Remember, the distinction between major and minor is not based on the importance of the prophet or his message, but rather on the length of the book itself.

Day 3: Zechariah 7 – 9
Day 4: Zechariah 10 – 12
