Why we believe everyone needs to hear about Jesus
November 19, 2017
At Southside, we believe our sending capacity is more important than our seating capacity. This means, among other things, that we do not measure our success by how many people sit in our worship services, but by how many people leave our worship services to live out the Gospel through word and deed. Jesus told His disciples to “Go and make disciples.” A fundamental part of our worship service is the ability to engage, equip, and empower people to fulfill the great commission. Join us for the sixth and final part of the Because series as Gary focuses on why we believe everyone needs to hear about Jesus.
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Romans 10:9-15 (ESV)
We share the message of Jesus for three reasons . . .
We Believe it. (Rom. 10:9-13)
- Two parts of belief: _____________ and _____________________
Jesus Commands it. (Rom. 10:14-15; Mat. 4:19-20; Mat. 28:18-20)
Love Demands it. (Rom. 10:14-15)
