The Segregation Abdication, part 2

May 6, 2018

Listen to Podcast

It has been said that 11 o’clock on Sunday morning is the most segregated hour in America. But if the message of the Gospel is love and reconciliation, why do our churches not reflect greater diversity? In Part four of Breakout, Pastor Gary Lee Webber looks at three specific forms of discrimination and how the Gospel can break us out of each of them.

If we are going to follow Jesus, we must breakout of a Segregated Church

We must be a desegregated church because . . .

It is a better environment for spiritual growth (Acts 10-11:18 & Galatians 2:11-16)

We can’t claim to be on mission with Jesus but only worship with people who are “like” us (John 3:16; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20)

A segregated church does not reflect the Kingdom of Heaven (Romans 10:12; Revelation 5:9 & 7:9-10)
