About the Condition of Your Heart
September 19, 2021
Status symbols can be everything from cars to watches to the clothes we wear. The way you spend your money says a lot about you. In fact, it says far more than you think it does. Join us for part one of Money Talks where we explore what it means to be rich and how the amount of money you possess has very little to do with your true wealth.
Your money talks about the condition of your heart.
Passage:
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. – 1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV)
Principle:
Wealth is not a number, it’s a condition of the heart.
Practice:
- For the coming weeks, record every dollar you spend, and based on those records, answer this question, “What is my money saying about the condition of my heart?”
- Don’t spend any change from now until Christmas. Bring it all to our Making Change jar and together, we will see how much we can bless someone this Holiday season.
- Read one of the suggested books on today’s sermon outline.
- Register for Financial Peace University (January 2022).
